there aint no such thing as a free lunch

This phrase, which has been around since the 1930s, was popularized by science fiction writer Robert Heinlein in his novel, The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress.

It’s a succinct way of stating this truth: when someone offers you something for free, he or she usually expects something in return.

In other words, “What’s the catch?”

It is rare to be offered something completely free, with no expectation of payment, especially in the world of business.

And the number of people who offer you software and courses and tools and memberships to help you make money online – well, it’s overwhelming.

And sometimes the “catch” is worth it, often it is not.

Even though you instinctively know that most of this is too good to be true, it’s still easy to get sucked in. Which wastes your time. Wastes your money. And perhaps convinces you to give up your dream.

    You’re right to be wary!

So what are WE offering, and why is it free?

We are offering knowledge, training, and a supportive place to get advice – in hopes of earning your business. We believe that when you understand who we are, what we do, and how well it works, you’ll be persuaded to buy one or more of our software products: YIVESuite Bundle.

    Let’s dig deeper though.

What, truly, does it cost – SHOULD it cost – to learn how to use the power of the Internet to grow a business for yourself?

    Three Currencies: Time, Money, Energy

    time money energy

MONEY is easy to understand; it’s what you use to buy things.

But it’s not the only currency that we have to spend.

TIME is a currency. Arguably the most valuable one, since once it’s spent it can never be regained.

ENERGY is a currency. The physical and mental effort you can offer, which includes your knowledge and your skills.

Ideally, we all have access to all three, though the amounts will vary by person and situation.

So whenever you want to get one of the three main currencies, you need to spend one or two of the other.

The currencies are also linked to each other. When you go into a store and pay with dollar bills, you are also paying with the time and energy it took to earn that money.

Which Currency Should You Spend to Create Online Income Streams?

If you need money, you should spend your time and energy to increase your knowledge and improve your abilities.

Take courses. Follow the experts and try to figure out what they’re doing. Read books. Hone your writing skills. Experiment with free versions of site-building tools or SEO software. Get good at using free tools (such as Google’s Business Profile) to understand how it can help grow a business. Test what you can. Barter, even!

If you need knowledge, you spend the money to obtain it and the time to understand it. It’s completely unrealistic to expect an expert to teach you everything you need to know and answer all your questions, without paying them to do so.

It’s also completely unrealistic (and not very smart) to pay for that knowledge and not take the time to consume it! Read the book, go through the tutorials, watch the strategy videos, and ask questions.

If you need time – well, no one can give you more hours in the day – but if you have enough knowledge and enough money, you can spend more time doing what you want.

Without understanding the interplay of these currencies, you’ll find it much more difficult to achieve your online income goals.

Your strategy should NOT be focused solely on “What can I get without paying for it?” but on “What can I pay to get what I want?”

Good luck!  Let us know how we can help.
